Memorial beads are handmade keepsakes designed to hold your loved one close at hand and heart. It is a representation of a continued celebration of their life and a tangible connection to their memory.
The first memorial bead I made was for myself and my daughters after the loss of their dad and my husband. I was amazed at the peace and comfort the bead gave us all. Often through the day I found myself touching the bead and having a sense of him being near. Many people that have ordered them tell me the same thing, it’s a tangible feeling.
Their cremains (human or animal) are permanently infused into the molten glass of the bead with respect and reverence, forever encasing them within the depth and beauty of design within the glass. Using glass allows the bead to adopt the warm love radiating from your heart. The waves and differing layers of colour within the glass reflect the beauty and depth of your memories with the shifting views reminding us of the precious value of life. I work very hard to take time to get an understanding of the essence of the spirit and the needs of the recipient making each and every bead a unique work of art. It is an honour to be trusted to make this important keepsake and be part of this journey of healing.

Once you have discussed your selection with me... you will forward me a small amount (¼ teaspoon for each bead made) of cremains in a sealed Ziploc style plastic bag that is clearly marked with the name of the spirit and your contact info. I like to have a picture and some stories of them to help me gain an understanding of their essence, if possible I enjoy listening to their favourite music when I make the bead.
Part of my preparation process is to meditate on the spirit before I begin, asking the spirits to guide my efforts.
When the bead is completed, it will sit in my studio for a few days to ensure there are no flaws before it is made into whatever final design you have chosen. In the event a bead develops a flaw, I will remake the bead and will include it with your order at no charge.
Any remaining cremains are also returned with the finished product. I take great care and caution to ensure the cremains are handled with respect and reverence throughout this entire process.
